The 1989 Batmobile was one I really wanted to build, but with the official set retired and the prices getting difficult to justify, I went down the compatible-brick route instead.
I'm glad I did. This was a fantastic build from start to finish and one I genuinely enjoyed putting together. It's a big build too, and as it starts taking shape you really get a sense of just how much presence the finished Batmobile is going to have.
Once finished, it absolutely delivers. The long body, unmistakable shape and sheer size make it a proper centrepiece rather than just another car on the shelf. It's one of those models that immediately looks impressive when you walk into the room.
For me, that's exactly where sets like this make sense. I got to build and display one of my favourite versions of the Batmobile without having to pay retired-set collector prices.
Fantastic build, huge display presence and one I'm very happy to have in the collection.
